• Clothing and other finished textiles like curtains, sheets, pillows and pillowcases, etc.
• Food, beverages or alcohol (including canning and brewing supplies)
• Medical supplies (including crutches, braces and boots)
o Drugs or medications, pill bottles
• Partially completed art projects
• Home decor
• Candles (candle-making supplies are accepted)
• Photo albums and completed scrapbook albums
• Large appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, stove/ovens)
• Large exercise equipment (treadmills, elliptical machines, etc.)
• Furniture or parts of furniture
o Cubicles, full workstations, partitions, overhead storage/filing units
o Electrical fixtures (ceiling fans, wall sconces, etc.)
• Cookware
• Building material including wood and wood scraps, hardware, and construction tools
o Drywall and particle board
o House paint, paint thinners, etc.
o Tiles
• Paint that is spoiled, dried, or in rusty, swollen cans
• Dangerous chemicals or toxic substances such as lead paint or thinners
• Small fabric offcuts smaller than 1 yard (fat quarters or specific quilting cuts are ok)
• Sexually explicit or discriminatory materials
• Office electronics (Ex: fax machines, monitors, printers, scanners)
• Toner cartridges
• CDs and DVDs
• Glass items
• Photo enlargers, dark room equipment, photo paper
• Weapons or explosives (Ex: firearms, knives, firecrackers, gun powder etc.)
• Baby gear, furniture, and plushy toys (strollers, playpens, high-chairs, car seats, cribs, bath seats, etc.)
• Moldy or mildew covered items
• Items covered in animal fur
• Taxidermy items
• Packing materials
• Random Plastics
• Magazines (except National Geographic or similar vintage magazines)
• Plastic Utensils
• Makeup and makeup brushes
Donations are subject to store discretion. If you have a question about a specific item you would like to donate (especially those large in quantity and size), please email us a picture at info@upcycleartsclt.org to see if we can accept it.
